A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that supplies search results. Elko Residents Directory does not retain a copy of the search query on its own servers. If you email us, we receive the information you include and use it to respond to the message.

Aggregate use of those logs helps maintain site security and understand page performance. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar technology where applicable.

Direct correspondence is used to answer the request, address a safety or technical issue, and keep a record of the exchange when necessary. Aggregate technical information supports operation, security, and improvement of the service. We do not create a resident profile from a visitor’s searches.

Elko Residents Directory links to public offices, courts, libraries, archives, and other outside services. Those destinations have independent privacy terms, security practices, and availability. Review the policy of a destination before entering personal information or sending a records request.

We do not sell direct messages or search inputs as a resident list. Information may be disclosed when required by law, needed to protect the service or another person from a credible security threat, or necessary for a vendor to operate the service under its own applicable terms.
Safeguarding Information
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information handled by the service. No online system can promise complete security. Avoid including Social Security numbers, driver-license details, protected addresses, account data, or other sensitive material in an email to this private reference site.
